Surely they wont keep the 4v boss just for that... maybe a n/a coyote.

AN NA coyote of some sort..

5.4 is not emmision compliant anymore... so no more are being built or sold as new anymore APART from those built before the cut off date..

From what we have heard, the XR8 is doomed and more than likely will be replaced by this GS machine?

its possible considering the pricing for a GS is said to be aprox mid 50s

But have also heard rumors the xr8 will return next year with N/A 307kw coyote. Would be room price wise if they did, keeping it in the low to mid 40s. One can ponder

more linkages

yeah it's such a shame that wheels and tyres aren't easily replaced.

Same point as flash tuning an XR6T - easily done but thats not what comes from factory. It'll put down poor 0-100 times and 1/4 times for the power it has.

it's a completely different point.
you can change tyres without voiding your driveline warranty.

it doesn't matter anyway, ford aren't going to jack up replacement tyre cost just so journos can go a tenth quicker 0-100.

They have a pretty poor 60ft time tho dont they?
HSVs get a 275 so why cant FPV offer the same?

How many pounds is it running stock? I've heard 4psi getting thrown around. Surely a 6psi tune would still be considered safe. And even then I'm sure harrop or someone would design a w2a intercooler for them.
What are people winding up their supercharged V6 commodore engines up to without coolers? 10-12psi?

sure, but then its not 'just' a pulley upgrade :P
and sure as hell won't be cheap.

the supercharged V6 motors probably run lower compression then the coyote, completely different ballgame.

I'm sure there will be some movement without a cooler, but its all speculation until someone does it.

Its not all about compression and boost. Too many other variables these days. At uni we ran a 12:1 compression engine with 12-15psi boost with a tiny A2A cooler and it never ever pinged. Combustion chamber design is where its at these days. And I believe coyote is far enough ahead of the old technology that many tuners will have to rethink their strategies in terms of limiting factors.

So Herrod had access to them pretty much before anyone else?

I think these new V8's might be quicker than the F6, they around 130kg lighter than the 5.4l v8
