so it seems skaife made poor business decisions. you cant rely on money from one source to run your business. why wasnt he also looking elsewhere for cash flow? isnt there a saying dont put all your eggs in one basket? if he was in such a poor financial shape why did he hold on to his mansion for so long? no sorrow here for incompetence

I think it's a shame Skaife had to retire from racing. Some may not agree, but I think it's good for the sport overall, to have it's cowboys and big ego's. The Skaife era was a good one, and lets face it, if we didn't have drivers like him setting high standards for racing as he did so in the past. Then Ford or Holden and the various teams wouldn't know what to shoot for.
Then V8 Supercars would be underwhelming. Take out the interesting drivers, the opininated, the biff and barge, and what do we have left. A group of mundane drivers and cars going around in circles, just to finish.
I miss the bullying Ambrose. The "Smiling Assassin" that was Glenn Seaton (driving for Ford). Larry perkins who used to tell it like it was and step up to the mark if anyone p****d him off.
