How would that go in a stock ED 4.0? Would I need to upgrade other parts if I used the XR6 cam?

You should gain around 10rwkw, no other parts need upgrading, you wouldn't even need to use the valve springs if you didn't want to. You could change the cam in one hour easy, valve springs would take longer.
