Bought this recently and was told it would fit a EL 4.0L, but when it camr time to fit found out that its not quite the right shape.Id say its maybe for earlier model motor around X series or early E series.As you can see in the pics its different at the front and back of the cover from my stock EL one.Its in very good nic(possibly new) and doesnt come with the plug lead holders that are on it.Asking for what I paid for it, $120+post.

it won't be X-series as they weren't OHC!
looks EA-ED to me

You are quite correct, forgot about the OHC and Id say would have to be aerly E series as well.

it shoyld fit straight onto your EL. u just need the studs and nuts as they attach diffentley

Problem with fitting to my EL head is the custom cover is shaped differently at the front and rear.My EL head has a recess at the front and rear.
My head looks like this at front and rear.... -- --u----- Custom cover at front and rear... ----------- See what I mean.

yeah it is a bog stock repainted EA one....probably worth 20 bucks.
