Hi there, for sale is my beloved EL2 XR8 sedan.
Im only selling due to upgrading to a mk2 xr6 turbo.
This car is in extremely good cond and will definitely impress upon inspection.
It is a December 1997 build first registered in Jan 1998.
I am the second owner and previous history is known.
Interior is very clean and untouched.
ENGINE:
The motor in this car is in perfect working order and only just running in with 137,000 Klm
Only genuine service parts have ever been used especially while I’ve owned it (2 years) as im a ford advanced technician and know the value of using quality ford parts.
The motor is a 185kw version of the 5L as fitted to the later AU, factory fitted with explorer manifold and stainless steel ELGT extractors. An Au Tickford air intake snorkel, K&N panel filter and ELGT air flow meter have also been fitted.
Car has plenty of go, not one oil or water leak throughout and is serviced religiously every 5,000KLM with a major service having just been completed including (ALL) fluids and filters. MECHANICALLY PERFECT!
GEARBOX:
Is the original T5 and in perfect working order- no noises or whines.
Great shift and feels really tight, not sloppy like high KLM cars.
Original clutch was replaced 10,000klm ago with an EXEDY H/duty example and is not heavy on the foot. Flywheel was machined and new thrust bearing fitted also.
DIFF:
Diff is the original 3:45:1 LSD and is still tight and no noises. Oil and friction modifier have also recently been replaced.
EXHAUST:
A cat back Red Back 2 1/2 inch system is fitted with 1 main muffler and sounds just like a V8 should, Tough!!
Wheels:
The wheels on the car are 19 inch GTP alloys and very good tyres (approx 80%).
SUSPENSION:
Is fitted with super low King springs all round and brand new h/duty rear shocks (rides Great).
Has had nolothane inner lower control arm bushes and front and rear swaybar bushes fitted.
BODY:
Car was factory ordered with body kit which is plastic not fibreglass. Car is extremely straight with no visible dents and paint is in well above average condition.
Also had darkest legal tint rear and 20% tint on front windows.
STEREO:
Is fitted with a motorized DVD player with remote USB, sd card, I pod and av output.
Door mounted JL Audio splits and clarion competition rear 6 inch speakers.
2 amps and 2 12 inch clarion competition subs in professional box.
Is also fitted with a boot mounted (on sub box) power inverter and cord (under passenger seat)
for use with playstation or other electrical devices.
This stereo sounds tuff and is all concealed for a stock appearance. (Easily $3000 worth of stereo equipment).
OVERALL:
This car is a must see and has got to be the best example of the model available for sale at the moment. Included in the sale is the original clutch and original springs and shocks.
Im so pedantic I even tracked down a brand new rear window ABS sticker as mine was a little faded!
The car will be supplied with a current RWC upon sale and any inspection or test is more than welcome.
An underneath inspection can also be arranged as this car has nothing to hide and neither do I.
A very regretful sale. Car is pickup only from the St Albans area. And car is advertised elsewhere.

That is one mickey mouse version of this car! I've always like the V8's of this era, semi old/semi new school stuff.

This car was in better nick than most ba xr6 T's getting around.
and it sound better anyway.
Im not bagging xr6 T's either coz ive got my own.
The guy got a lot of car for his money.

Not many EL XR8's going around in that sort of condition and with those kms plus manual, so its worth it to someone that wants a immaculate car like that.

Ive been looking for a immaculate EF/EL XR6 with low kms for months now but nothing has come up but will pay top dollar if something comes by that im looking for plain and simple.
