Hi All,

I have decided to sell my torque converter as I only drive the car it was to go in once a week if that, so there's no real point!

It's a hi-stall torque converter to suit an EA - AU (EA, EB, ED, EF, EL, AU) 6 cylinder 4 speed auto. It is not suitable for V8's.

This converter was originally built and strengthened for a turbo application, but it only ever saw a year or so of use behind an NA 6.

As such, it's plenty strong, and has a stall speed of approximately 2700rpm in an NA application. In a boosted application, you would see a higher stall speed (obviously dependent on your power).

This stall speed was just enough to ensure it didn't go into Limp Home Mode. Any higher and generally you will hit Limp Home Mode. There are modules available from http://www.shiftkits.com.au to alleviate this issue, although this should only be needed for this converter in a boosted application.

I absolutely loved this converter while it was in my last car, and to me it drove like a stocker at all times, other than when you were having a bit of fun.

I'm after $320 firm for it. Please no offers as I will keep it for any less.

Pickup welcome from either Reservoir (business hours only) or Cheltenham (after hours), or alternatively I'm more than happy to post at the buyer's expense.

Please post or PM for any queries.

Thanks,

Justin.

I'm really not sure to be honest, sorry. Not quite sure how to tell either now that it's out of the car.

Based on that, I'll say no so I'm covered, but I'm really not sure!

Interesting piece of gear. So it's a genuine Ford torque converter, but has been taken apart and 'tinkered' with so to say?

Not too sure. That's generally how most of the custom ones are done, so I guess so!

No grey area, - they're cool and they rock!

This is now sold!
