Up for sale is a T5 i was told was from a EL. I have only bought it this arvo, and i'll be honest i bought it cheap, looking to offload for a quick couple of $$. Was told box has done 130000's and it looks pretty clean, i can't feel any play in the input shaft and it selects gears fine. But of course, i cannot be 100% on its condition until i have bolted it in so its buyer beware a little i suppose. Comes with a flywheel, stuffed pedal box but i'll chuck in a mal wood pin kit (weld the pedal box and keep as spare, not that you'll need it)

Im in Brisbane, can dump at a transport depot if required.

Not really expecting to sell it, ebay will more than likely be the place but you never know! open to offers from Ford Modders.

Have just realised flywheel is a EA item, so who knows what the box is out of.

So if the flywheel is EA then i assume it has been redrilled? As ea is 3 bolt and Eb2 onwards is 6 and that ones got 6 holes lol

the lever is a home made job, the knob suggests EA as well.

Anyone know if any numbers off the box can tell me a build date?

The only info you'll find is on the aluminium tag near the extn housing breather - it will have a xxDA number (provided it's original).
Need to see the LHS of the gearcase to determine whether it's a pre/post EBII g/box.
Also select 1st - does the input shaft rotate 3.5 times(EA/EBI), or 3.25 times(EBII on) for every 1 turn output shaft.

its on ebay atm, just search for ea t5

apart from age, im not sure why peeps shy away from the ea it was a good car that just got a bad name for some minor cooling and suspension faults (wich are easily fixed). even tho the ea t5 had the 9" clutch (3 bolt) it still hooks up to a 10" (6 bolt), the only other real difference imo was higher gear ratios due to the ea-ebs1 using a low ratio diff (2.92).

on the plus side, the ea t5s slightly higher ratios are comparable to a high ratio diff and so will let the engine pick up speed quicker on a quater mile run.

ea-ebs1
1. 3.50:1
2. 2.14:1
3. 1.39:1
4. 1.00:1
5. 0.78:1

ebs2 onward
1. 3.25:1
2. 1.99:1
3. 1.29:1
4. 1.00:1
5. 0.72:1

if i didnt allready have a spare id concider buying another but good luck with the sale old_mate.
