Ride: BA XR6 Turbo

Power: 175 rwkw

Location: The Shire, Sydney
NSW, Australia

It is indeed a very sad day, but it's time to sell my pride and joy and buy something more 'sedate' . My wife has her own car but we now need something we can both drive, and she's too scared to drive it (something to do with a little sideways excursion in the wet after being a bit too enthusiastic with the right foot. Low down torque 4tw! )

I've just advertised an EOI for the engine seperately but I'd much rather sell the car complete.

According to the rego papers it's an EF futura
The mods and performance are probably known to a few around here  but here's a quick run down.

Body

Full respray in phantom mica with a bit of extra pearl - deep purple in the sun, almost black of a night and changes colour with other lighting - blueish sometimes and more of a burgendy colour in the afternoon sun
Modified BA GT side skirts
EL GT rear wing
"EF GT" rear bar
EL GT bonnet scoop
Modified "EF GT" front bar with custom grille and badge
Blackened surround headlights with high intensity LED parkers and 6000k HID conversion

Engine (got just over 20k on it)

Colour coded engine bay plastics - coolant tank, power steering cover, airbox and rocker cover
Advance headers
Redback cat back exhaust with single straight through muffler to twin 3" tips
K&N panel filter
Modified airbox with K&N panel filter
EL GT intake snorkel
BA intake tubing
Iridium XR6 turbo plugs and 9mm eagle leads
It's Performance Stage 4 fully rebuilt blueprinted and balanced engine:
JP h/v oil pump
Race bearings
Major inlet porting & polishing
Competion head gasket
Over size exhaust valves
heavy duty valve springs
50Thou of head
40thou oversize pistons (forged JP race series)
Forged JP rods
Exhaust port polishing
Molly rings
Billit timming gear and chain set
Stage 4 cam

Interior

Custom grey/black 2 toned interior
velour door inserts with chrome handles and LED lighting
Momo Blue/black leather steering wheel
shortened shifter with black gear boot
Custom instrument cluster with 8mm led illumination throughout
Custom 7" flush mount indash LCD screen
Camera mounted in front lower grille
DVD player and HDD media player
JVC MP3 headunit
Sony 222w amp
Response 6.5" polykevlar splits
Response 2x150wrms amp
2x earthquake 12" subs

Brakes / Driveline / Suspension

17" Speedy longchamp rims (running 255s on the rear)
RDA slotted rotors
Painted red calipers
EBC greenstuff pads
PBR heavy duty clutch
3.45 LSD
King springs Lows
Monroe GT gas shocks
Nolethane castor/camber kit
30mm Whiteline front swaybar

Performance

175 rwkw (first place at fordmods dyno day 18 months back)
0-100: mid 6 seconds (g-tech)
ET: 14.44 @ 92 mph (WSID)
I had a few dramas that night though - I'd just fitted the 3.45 diff and hadn't swapped over the speedo gear so I was hitting the 180k limiter before I crossed the traps! I also had to run on 195 width burnout tyres (and thus had to do a sissy launch to get any traction) after a tyre pressure gauge mishap with my street tyres...

That's all still running the factory ECU. I've got an assembled megasquirt ECU here to install but never got around to fitting it. I'll include that with teh car and you can install it yourself if you with. With some proper tuning and decent tyres a 14 flat is highly likely.

This is an old photo, the engine bay is a bit grubby

This is another old photo, the seats now have black velour covers which match the door trims

This was before I finished installing the screen properly, but you get the idea

I'd say 90% of the car is between 2 months and 2 years old, infact the only things I haven't replaced or upgraded are the power steering pump, alternator, rack, gearbox and tail shaft! (all of which are fine)

I'm chasing around 12,500, which is a hell of alot less than what I've spent on mods alone (the usual story unfortunately)
I don't think it's too bad considering the age of most of the components and the fact that no new car under 40k can touch it.

Serious offers ?

Thats a very realistic price for whats been done!

People considering an EF/EL XR6 should take a look at this as a decent version will be around 8-12k depending on km and mods, whereas this has everyhting all done for you.

Yeah someone hurry up and buy it! :)
If I sell it shortly I've got my eye on a BA XR6T, mercury silver with leather and premium sound, which is exactly what I'm looking for but it'll probably be sold before I sell mine :(

Failing that I might settle for a NA XR6 manual and do a few mods to get it moving a bit better (extractors, intake, edit)

Gotta love the Merc Silver Turbo's with premium audio

For that price, this would have to be one of the best bang for your bucks going around!!!

Good luck with it mate, hope you get what you want.

I thought it was pretty reasonably priced but so far no takers at all :(

I should also add that if anyone in south east Qld is seriously interested I MAY consider driving it up there to deliver it

Very sad to see it go mate, I can just imagine how you must feel about it.
You know the movies you posted up some time back, with teh camera in car and you just driving around with your exhaust disconnected... I still watch it nearly every day, hahaha :)

About 25 minutes from home, 10 from work. If you're interested I'd come pick you up.

Rubbish, this car has no guts, is very quiet and has only been driven to church on sundays

haha, you need help ...from your bank manager and the RTA
How dead is the fairmont ? If it's just the diff surely you could just put a stocker in it and sell it. You'd only need a few grand extra and you could just polish it and rev it up in the driveway until you get your license back (I went through that stage a few years back! )
