As i have taken the old school, standard ford tape deck out and replaced it with a cd head unit etc, i am wondering is it worth selling??

Coming from someone who has given away car CD players: No. It's not worth selling.

It's worth hanging on to so that when you sell the car you can put it back in, rather than sell your aftermarket CD player with it.

yeah, keep the stock head unit. I did with my Na fairlane, but sold the car with the CD system in it. I had the HU for a while, got bored, then one day, my dad bought a toyota hilux tray truck with a crap radio inside. I fit the NA radio in there.
