I have a World Class T5 (3.25:1 1st) ie: EF/EL

It came out of an XG ute with 231tho k's

Like always I check things out b4 I palm them off.

a*** is good (slight wear) Bearings Same, 5th syncro slider is slightly worn.
Ohh and most importanly its missing the drain plug.

I haven't driven it so I cant tell if there is noise.
Either way... its a complete bargain.

To be honest, I'll take $180 for the box as is.

No bell housing no clutch just box.

I've seen others sold for a LOT more with MORE K's.

Pick up only

Looks like the inner gear that corresponds to the synchro but doesnt it?

The 1st/2nd & 3rd/4th slider will have similar wear - nothing to get anxious about.

I've got a couple spare - the buyer can have one for the cost of postage, if needed. That's if you're fine with that Andrew.

Perfectly fine by me Ray!
I'll dig one up tomorrow if I can.

1/2 and 3/4 are in better condition than the 5th!
I was expecting 4th to be the worst, but its not!

I spoke to a T5 fanatic on wednesday and showed him the 5th slider and said.. mate thats the first part (besides brass) to wear on T5's! he said he'd slap it back in hope for the best.
They're avaliable new for about $120.

As i have a spare T5 with new bearings in the shed awaiting the 4.0 Ute conversion, I didn't need to spend more $ on a gearbox when im saving for a house :/

Hence, out ya go as is.

I'm a bit surprised it hasn't already gone - that's a very good price.

Should be less than $5 surely - they're not that big - the filler and drain plugs are the same.
To get one from a wrecker - you'd need to find a trashed T5.

Reason I hesitated is I'm currently looking at houses to purchase, and honestly need all the $$ I can get for a deposit!

minor thread jack...

Where is the best place to buy a rebuild kit and/or individual parts for the T5 boxes?

Who is the T5 guru Krytox?

I think i should get stuck into mine. Have plenty of tech info and the tools/know how to DIY.

Cheapest quote i got a while ago was $700 c/o. I laughed knowing its probably a $100 worth of parts and a few hours of my time. Drives fine but a bit "squeaky" in 1st 2nd and 3rd. 4th and 5th no noise. Apparently its the secondary shaft support bearing i'm told???

$700 is a reasonable price for a rebuild.
2 main bearings are around 70bux a pr.
counter bearings are around 160 iirc.
then theres the syncro's (kit) needle bearings shims, cleaning and most important... warranty

Theres 2 places I go to, one is on capella drive Moorabbin the other is a joint in carnegie. NFI what the places are called as I don't ring them, I just go there.

As posted on another thread, you should be able to safely replace input and output bearings yourself for around 70bux without the need for a dial indicator and shimming.

I'll get onto the names
