Ive got a set of Simmons FR18s with two 8in wide and another two at 9in and are to suit AU/BA offset. They are grey in colour, with polished lip. No gutter scrapes but the paint is a little chipped here and there on the centre.

Has tyres but rears (255) will definately need replacing and the fronts (225) are worn on the edge but have plenty in the centre

Offers?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but cause they're a two piece, I'm pretty sure you can take em to Simmons and they can change the offset for you.
Bolt the center piece behind the lip to make it closer to +0

Nah not bolt them on the inside, you'd have to change the centres, or the inner or outer rims... and anything to do with Simmons is costly.
I was talking to a mate the other week, we were both surprised how Simmons are still in business, they're very expensive, and with the rims you can buy today for less than half of what Simmons cost, you don't see too many Simmons on the road now.
Best way to buy them is like this, second hand... unless you're loaded.
If i had the spare cash i'd consider buying these, 1 because i have always liked Simmons, 2 there aren't too many cars around with them.

Yeah, the FR's are a bloody nice rim.
You're right, it's a shame they're so exxy brand new, and buying them second hand like this is definately the best way.
Anyone interested in these would do well to price them directly from Simmons, and see how much of a better deal these are!

Centres stay the same, its the outer and inner rim that have to be replaced to change the offset or width.
The actual inner and outer pieces arnt that expensive I dont think, its the labour involved in dismantling them, new nuts, and making sure they dont leak and re-assembling.
If you knew what you were doing you could do it yourself and saving a bit.

I thought they would have had a different depth on the centre of the AU/BA.

Yeah not hard to do, i pulled mine apart when i had them, you need a couple of tubes of silicone and you're on your way.

If you still have these in a cpl of months i might come up for a drive.

I'd have to agree with you Walker, i don't know how Simmons sell any rims as well. Sure they look horn, but they're stupidly expensive. I wouldn't have bought mine if i didn't get them s/h.
Don't even bother ringing Simmons for the prices of these FR18's.
Try over $700 a rim, plus tyres.
Simmons are kinda like CAPA, they're damn expensive, but at least their s**t works...
Good luck with the sale, around 2k isn't a bad price at all.

Very nice rim. Unfortunately way out of my price range though.

You could always use a set of hub adaptors to make them fit pre AU, but this would make it illegal, and void insurance if they found out.

Do you use hub adaptors ELXR8, or are they made for pre AU offset?
