1. What's your definition of pretty even?
2. What kind of speeds were you dragging at (was it a standing start or a rolling on a freeway or something like that?)
3. Did he know you were dragging?

Ummm. I can sum this up VERY accurately for you:

You have a Ford, he has a Holden.

He looses by default.

Simple.

In all seriousness though, what he said ^

both reaction times make a difference.. maual or auto make a difference.. so does driver skill plays into the equation... was there traffic in front of the statesman??

it was from a standing start. i goy a head of him buy about a car length then by the end? it was about 500m. i was only ahead by the front guard. and yes he knew that we where dragging. his the one who wanted to drag.
his is a fully manualised auto.

Ok then, was he running 2 PSI or something?
Over 500 metres, you would be doing at least 160-170km/h.
He could also have single spinner with a 3.08 diff, as a lot of them had.

he was running about 6 psi buthis got no cooler or anything at the moment. he has got the 3.08 diff but its a lsd. thats what i thought is why is was so close. if he had a different ratio he would of killed me.

260 rwkw out of 6 PSI, isn't bad at all.
The cooler wouldn't have made that much of a difference speed or power wise.
Congrats on doing so well, i would've chalked up a win for the Stato even once i had heard all the facts.
Even with the 3.08 diff, i still would've thought he would have creamed you.

Yeah i would have thought with a decent stall up at the lights that statesman would boot, regardless of final drive ratio.

Having said this.... you have 173+kw at the wheels... that's a pretty serious windsor!!

Hey EvilEF, was it a White, VS Grange by any chance?
Cause there is one around Sunbury occasionally, but is running 12 PSI and apparently has over 300rwkw. I've seen it go past the back of my house, and it bloody moves!
I thought with you being in Kilmore, its not too far away, for it to be possible.

Yeah i'm in Sunbury, i knew there was a nice looking white Grange that only seems to get around a little bit these days.
Its great, all the other cars around here that run Forced Induction are basically R31's, R33's, VL's, etc. So they all s**t bricks when a blown V8 drives by, and this Stato is a lot tougher than mine.
It's never better than when a guy (tool) who lives nearby has about 20 of his mates around at the local shops looking over his VL Turbo, that he bragged about it making 170rwkw at 12 PSI, and he just got it turboed, even thought i couldn't really give a s**t. He kinda shut up when i said i was making 183rwkw on 3.5 PSI, when i was.
Even though his VL would be 500kg's lighter, etc.
