Give me your opinion this weekend there’s going to be a drag o yes fun fun. A Ford vs. Holden drag and yes there both quite new. My BF XR8 sedan vs. a VZ SS ute GEN 4 thing. There specs are almost the same power. Now I know there all that and more, well that’s what the ppl tell me, but what are the chances and how close should it be….? O yeah both stock both manuals.

Any recommendations for the drag?? eg traction on/off, fuels? make a diff the the result??

VZ SS's don't have gen IV v8s, they have the L76 truck motor. Which is bad news for you as this particular engine has bucketloads of torque and power off idle, something the BA certainly doesn't have.
Go and get a flash tune on your xr8 lol.
His car is lighter, makes more power and torque earlier and is just downright quicker.
Sorry mate, you're gonna get spanked.

I saw it 2day crapy look about it nuthing great, anyway its a 6lt engine thats the worrie but ya never know to ya give it ago!! he recons traction control is harsh and takes away some of the power at take off! thats great news hey. The bf gets the power to the ground..... Dont know if it will make a big diffrence but going to stick BP Ultimate in her for the drag and 1/4 tank. It will be on cam so if the outcome is good/close it will be for all to see.

turn traction control off dude it will rob you of power just learn to control your clutch also he has no weight over his rear wheels so he may have alot of troubles getting traction you may have a chance off the lights which is where it will count

I'm not convinced it will be as one sided as you holden twits suggest. The utes are about half a second slower than the sedan, motor qoute 14 flat for the maloo ls2 (297 kw), and they've run 13.9 in mk II xr8's. Anyway, I think it will be close, mostly down to the driver...

my bro ran a 15.5 in his old xr6t.
i hopped into it for the first time ever, i've never used sports shift before, and i bounced it off first gear and ran a 14.8
it comes down to the driver, it comes down to the car, even tyres play a big part.
the race will be close, i wanna see that video even if you lose!
