As stated the 2.4l is actually 115kw and considerably lighter than the porkey BA. I test drove a new one (same as being discussed here) 6 months ago and as yobbo said they're suprisingly quick and have quite a bit of torque. It got to 110km quite briskly before the salesman suggested I slow down. Given the auto ratios, I'd have thought he'd get you down low rather than up top.

my biggest problem with them is they dont feel like there doing the speed the speedo is reading...

I think a lil more then 20km/h. I was in my dads manual fiesta and i had my mate in his AU I6 to 70 Km/h when i backed off.

Id believe that. Drove an 04 fiesta today. heaps of pull for a bubby car.

stock lancer will not beat a stock BA IMHO. just not enough torque.[/quote]

hmm i saw darkr in his BA XT race a new lancer non turbo and the lancer beat him. Only just but.

Yeah man, that lancer had so many type R stickers, it must have been up to 900hp! I had no chance!!!!!

Sif a lancer would beat me though, I do like 0-100 in 6.8s :D

3.23 ratio diff sucks though, I need 3.73's :D

Sorry I'm late.
It's my first time here.
I'm currently driving an AUII and I have an Evo III back in my country. I used to have Lancers and I garantee that standard Lancers cannot beat any 4 litre Ford. Especially, at high speed like over 100 kmh, Lancer just dead. So the one that you raced with might have something.
Cheers!!

how long can people talk s**t for about a lancer and a falcon..

Any body who wants to waste their time and fuel doing so deserves to be beaten by one.

they are like v6 crumby's if you win, (and you know you should before you hit the pedal) yay for you  , BUT if you lose you look like more of a goose than you really are for doing it in the first place.

just look at them and smile and cruise off easy and keep them wondering
