Does anyone know the details on the proposed raceway to be built at the terrace? I heard somewhere that the $ are on the table ,the location has been chosen, the organiser has overcome the situation with the locals concerned about noise, and are now doing environmental impact studdies just in case that becomes a local or do gooder hurdle in the near future.
I hope it goes ahead, as there are getting some pretty serious car on the local scene & it would be a shame to see the guys/gals ruin the leaniency of the local authorities by having no where else to unleash the monsters What do you guys think?

Yeah mate i hope this does go ahead, it has been on the cards for a few years now, and IMO newcastle and the surrounding areas needs something like this for all the car nuts to go to. They have shut down all the places we all used to go to around here to give the car a burl, and now there is only the street.
I will give my mate up at Raymond Terrace moto track a ring tonight and see what is going on. I will get back to ya.

hahaha yeah mate she is going great, and yeah i have no idea why your tyres would be worn out, they seem to loose tread quite quickly...
Anyways, i was talking to the bloke up at the terrace moto track. And what he said pretty much is what we thought. They are in court at the moment, they just need to get the environmental test passed and a few other things, and it should all go ahead. So hopefully it will be a goer, which would be sweet, as u said before kenny, we are getting some serious cars here in newy now, and they need somewhere to go, so they are not doing stupid stuff on the street. When i find out some more info, or if u or anyone else finds out some info, post it up. We wanna know whats going on with this. BEN

This page hasn't changed in a couple of years, but you can contact the Newcastle MG club for an update. There is already a hillclimb course at this venue & the next event will be on Jan 28. I think the owners of these 'leashed monsters' should join a NAMS (Newcastle Area Motor Sport) club or any other CAMS affiliated club, get a L2S licence & enter events like this. hmm a race track in my home town, would be lovely

at the moment, the last i heard it's still on the cards, it was tobe scrapted but new debate has sparked them up again, i think they are waiting on the EPA or land owners sigatures, so it might still go ahead. i hope so, i'll be there every weekend.
