Grab a box of kleenex and sit in your out dated wrecks and think about the good old days. I just made a comment about a post, your the one that started pulling punches. Lighten up !

Hardly an outdated wreck
you forget most members on Herr own an e series falcon

I cant see the extra gear being worth a full second.
Is there a difference in the diff ratio between the 5 and 6 speed? I could see an improvement with a lower diff ratio but hardly a second. Thats a pretty big call.

The car did 14.4 quarter mile, a stock FG 5 speed will do better than 15.4. Id say a 15 flat, .6 of second can easily be seen with a gearbox change.

BF2 6speed SA goes 14.5. FG 6speed SA XR6 goes 14.5. People still dont believe the 6 speed SA falcon can do a 14.5. Faith is lost in humanity.

The only way to get a 14.4 in a N/A is to get ZF6 auto, full exhaust, Induction, Flash tune, Underdrive pulley, Traction, and reaction time, how i know this u may ask? because my car does it, only thing is i was not getting enough traction so i could of done better,

here is a link to a video of my car at heathcote, doesent have a video of the quater mile time or the drag race, just some insane burnouts that i done, dont forget this is only a N/A FG xr6 with the above mods and a single spinner stock diff

I have to add to this thread. I have an FG R6 ute, six speed auto with Limited slip diff. Had a BF and BA XLS before, they are worlds apart compared to the FG. And without the limited slip, it would be a nightmare to drive in the wet. The accelaration just keeps coming compared to the earlier utes and much better on fuel. A friend owns a supercharged V6 Commodore, thought nothing of the ute until we had a match up ( undecided ). The way it goes, I'd guess at least high 14's, but I'm no expert.

I saw some where that a FG NA 6cyl with a 6 speed has a first gear from factory the same as if you had a T5 in an eseries with 4.11's

That's how the FG's 6 Speed Autos get off the line quick

Someone worked the ratios out for all the 6 gears - was impressive - I can't remember where I saw it though

Whats a Dyno? I seriously have never had my XR8 on a dyno, and I see no point unless it gets tuned (byu someone else after I fkn sell it and buy a Chaser!)
