just to answer your question ,on the ef,s the map will read up to 10 psi ,know this for a fact had one tested ,any more than that and u will need to upgrade ecu .on my ef im just running 7 psi on a standard engine,i just upgraded the fuel with a walbro fuel pump and a 12.1 obx fuel reg runs good no probs at all ,,u have to upgrade your fuel system though other wise it will lean out under boost ,there are many other ways to do it but this is how I done mine hope this helps

You can get around the factory map sensor 10psi cut by using a map bypass or bleed valve setup. Stock motor will be fine at those kms if in good condition still with a good tune/fuel setup, id personally keep stock compression its not overly high. Plenty inc myself have run over 300kw on the stock bottom ends.

So how will it pull timing out with increasing boost?

Timing is simply set for what is required under full boost weather that's 10 or 20psi makes no difference. Not as ideal as an aftermarket ecu with boost cut/heaps of tables for varying boost levels etc but works well for me.
