At your age I would forget about it, I think you will find most insurance comapnies won't even give you a quote and if they did it would be huge. IMO either don't insure it, even if you had an accident every year or two it would still probably work out cheaper, or don't tell the insurance company and if you do have an accident you will then have to take the engien back to stock before claiming. Obviously both methods are risky.

Go third party...Don't tell them of any mods....The $$$$ you save you could buy a car every 5 years...Pluss I bet your driving changes somewhat knowing YOU have to fix your car..
That way if you do have an accident you are not paying out on repairs on someone elses car...They are very rairly less than $10k these days...Enough incentive ???

I now have my EL Fairmont insured :D through SHANNON'S ...
I told them what wheels i have 17x8 and 245x45 17 tires and that it was lowered had tinted windows and a sports exhaust with extractors ...
Shannon's was more than happy to insure my car for an Agreed value of $12.500 BUT my premium has doubled to $800 a year ...
One upside is that my EL Fairmont is now classed as a full modified car and i can do any modifications without any worries of no insurance OR increase in premiums ...Thanks for all your input and advice

At least get 3rd party hey!

Most insurace places say that you can do any legal modifications on 3rd party.

BUT some also say "As long as it doesnt increase enine size or power"

Just try Just Cars, se what they say

I think you have to be older than 21 to go through Shannons..?
And the other performance mob.. cant remeber name, u need to be 25ish

I own it and its worth more in parts than what value is from any pay out from insurance company..Plus with mods I have they want over $2500 a year insurance..Now what would they pay out on an E.B XR8 ? 1991 model... $5k at most ? !!! There is over $10k in motor alone, not mention trans...
I have had the odd couple of little dings over the last few years my car has never been checked .. From memory they didn't ask when first insured.. I have other property insured with ins co as well....Through broker..I guess they don't think an old codger like me would have a modded car ?? Hehe.....
