how would you dose your xr6 turbo, has anyone got dose there for theres?
if so tell me how and what i need to do?

i dont know much about turbos but my mate just put a peformance filter in the and a bigger cooler, and it makes a slight dose when letting off the throttle

unplug the blow off valve vacuum line (and block it)

And screw the turbo! Dose, from what little i have heard, can do extreme damage to a turbo. :(

over an extended period of time, yes it'll do damage to the turbo more so then using a BOV.

If you drive like old dorothy then it will still last a few 100,000kms. But if you drive it like most people drive turbo cars then expect a rebuild every 10-20,000kms.

Intake charge reversion through the compressor.
With a BOV, when you snap the TB shut during full boost, it releases the pressure build up (psssssssh), so the compressor doesnt stall (it keeps spinning).
With no BOV, pressure has no where to go. so it forces its way back through the compressor (hence some saying it causes it damage) and intake piping (dooooo du du du du du).
That my friend, is dose.
I think the word 'dose' originated here in Melb, among the VLT crowd.
Dunno, it certainly seems to me more mexico centric.
Theres a whole science to 'dose pipes' (intake pipes designed to make the best noise).
I don't mind a bit of a dose, but I'm of the opinion that if you are f**k around, making 20 different intake setups that probably hurt performance alot, it's a bit of a wank.
But hey, each to their own.

Still sounds a hellava lot better than a lot of the gay blow off valves around!
Apparently a blow off valve also helps to reduce hydrocarbon emissions on gearchanges...

extreme damage? dude, it'll reduce the life of a turbo from say 15 years to like 14. makes f**k all difference really. paricularly with steel wheels.
just remove your bov and block it off, sounds better when you have a front mount though, more of it lol.

I would have also thought this would have done some pretty screwy things to performance? You know stopping the compressor to make a sound... then having to get it to spool up again.

Also what the hell, why dont people just start putting a nice little speaker under their bonnet, then they can make any fricken sound they want. s**t you could even give an electrical jolt to your smacky dac waring passenger on each gear change. That way you get a yelp.... so much cooler than some silly intake noises.

im not a big fan of dosing ether. i would rather a nice quiet bov any day.

losing spool time for some s**t noise sound stupid to me but its your car and u do what u want to it.
