He got it dynoed at Hallam Dyno, that was the only difference.

Hallam seems to overestimate every dyno figure I've ever seen by 17%.

mmm... 260rwkw to just over 300rwkw.... 17% difference. 8-)

while I like your little dig, it could almost be credible except the 260kw dyno run was also done on the same dyno in the same shootout mode, where all variable are locked.
Oh did Dan mention it also drives much faster on the road. I'm not sure if he said it goes 17% faster, but the 11.8 time slip doesn't lie !

Huh? ya joking right?
Mine runs same figures on every dyno give or take 4 or 5 KW......
Not quiet 17%

Well... My car didnt run much quicker after my 140rwkw run at Hallam, compared to the 117rwkw run I did months previous. Same with every other person I know who dynoed their car at Hallam compared to everywhere else... Always 17% difference.

What would the figures be without shoot out mode? Which I think every credible dyno operator will admit the figures get upped a litte in shootout mode.

Nah... I'm not joking. Maybe its shootout mode that makes it 17% more everytime I see a car on Hallam's Dyno.

No one at Hallam, least of all yourself Paul could explain why to me on that day.

Would you be interested in a free dyno run somewhere else of my choice (a very credible operator) for comparison?

Unless someone is turning off the X-factor for certain cars. 8-)

I'll take u up on that !

which car do you want ? the Group A or the Ba ?

Keep in mind the Group A struggles for traction on most dynos, unless the rollers are TOP quality and it is tied down real well and hard.

The Ba would be a much more reliable and constant car.

But I am willing for either. Just to see.

Oh I have my X factor in a can, so i'll bring my own !

Well... I'd have to say the Group A. But I know how fastidious you are with that car, and I'm sure you have 20 differnt dyno sheets with various fuels, computer maps, air intake mods, etc.

To make it fair I would have to expect you would provide a dyno figure from a place we agree on (say Hallam), using the same vehicle circumstances.

Plus, this dyno I'm suggesting is not using shootout software, as the owner refuses to buy it.

Where as the BA, I dont know if its been to Hallam, or your usual MK Automotive to obtain figures you have.

For the basis of this comparision, I'd like a Hallam run. As this is the dyno in question here.

To make it fair we will run the Ba at hallam, and go straight to your dyno of choice.

You can come and watch the run, you have to tell me what ramp rate your guy will run , so I can do that there, that way we will comapre apples with apples.

Sound good I am excited !

When ??

whats the point in comparing a shootout mode dyno and a nonshootout mode dyno.
ofcourse there is going to be a difference.

to put it simply, the 40rwkw gain that dansedgli had with his AU was not just 'from the dyno'
there was considerable work done to get that extra 40rwkw.

Well If LTD was going then i would. It has been to comps at other workshops with different operators and still pulls still has same figures!

OK. Sounds good.

In the spirit of the challenge. Could I run my car at Hallam at the same time. We can go freebies at either side. Just as a back to back comparison for my previous 140 rwkw at Hallam.

Let me speak to my guy to organise a time.

It will be a long night. My dyno is in the western suburbs.

My issue is as honest comparison, I have no idea what your BA has run previous on that dyno. If there is any nudging going on, it could easily be turned off before the runs are complete. Hence my question of running my car as a comparison... I should make 141.9 rwkw there again, give or take a couple of kw.

I cant see the point really either... I'm told that the softwares will provide different figures. Maybe this will tell us if its true.

Even you wowed at my 140rwkw figure at Hallam, but even I knew it wasnt correct...

But even if I get a** raped wrong over this exercise, I think it should dispell a number of questions and myths, considering they are both Dyno Dynamics units. If I'm right, I suppose it just asks more questions.

ok, sounds good, if it is a night we do ur dyno first.

if not a sat morn is cool.

Nudging ?? dunno what u mean by that ? but that's cool

we run both cars at each dyno,

cool !! sounds like fun.
I best run this by Andrew, but if I have to pay, then so be it.

Fair enough. I cant see how it matters who does who's first, apart from the fact you would get home earlier than me... :D

Nudging. I was made privy to a number of nudge / correction factors in the Dyno Dynamics software.

Like you, I have to run it by the owner of my dyno, and if I have to pay, I will do so as well.

Make my poor car the control car.

Cool, let me know when.
A couple days notice would be appreciated, unless you can do it saturday 20 August, ( today) as I am free !

This will be beneficial for all parties involved.
