hey guys im building my turbo falcon atm have gathered a few things and doing research before i look into big HP

so far i have engine management and boost controllers
am saving for my basic turbo package atm looking at stage 3-4 from snort performance

but with this power increase the standard engine isnt going to hold up for long

i am trying to hunt down a good set of forged pistons and some conrods and where the best place to hunt them down from and rough prices so i know im not getting jibbed just got my hands on a newer EL XR6 engine and want to send it away to get it built whilst i test my boundaries with its current engine

will upload pics as i get further into my build

any info is very much appreciated

A quick search on this forum should yield some results regarding rods and pistons. I, myself have replied to a similar thread.

I'll save you some time....

Spool Rods.......http://www.spoolimports.com

If you use Spool rods?? Make sure you order correct pin size and height..
As they are for B.A and latter motors..
From memory the B.A has same rod length as A.U engines..
E series have slightly shorter rods and pin height is further down the piston...

iv been been running 12psi through a stock au engine for 18 months and never had a single problem.i personally would get it running on a stock engine and build a good one while your driving it.that way IF you have a problem and blow a motor, you'll blow the stock sacrificial motor, rectify the fault and put the good motor in on a decent set up.that was my plan but i never built a tough engine and havent needed to

the turbo setup will be seing my old motor before its see's the new one but i just want the spare motor built first! like i said its my daily and i cant afford down time. the motor just needs to be ready just incase i blow the current engine i dont have a spare car

have to order my new wiring loom for my microtech so i can start modifying my ignition set up

as the EL has the distributor im aiming to cut back into the individual coil packs and CAS as i can acheive higher revs with a better ignition setup

am i able to use the microtech ignition coils or are the falcon ones just as good?

also am i able to run the BA xr6 turbo injectors for higher flow?

No.

Not to start a s**t, but I wouldn't classify it as value for money.

why do you say that?

the jim mock rebuilt motor is capable of over 600Hp

Its basically a fully prepped and balanced engine.

It has JMM I beam Steel conrods and forged pistons.

Has the JMM Turbo Dev5 head with Stainless valves and turbo cam and springs.

The engine will be modified to have specific water outlets for your turbo and will also have the drain back in the sump for you for the turbo oil.

No intention of being rude, but JMM is renouned for being overpriced and overstating the quality of their gear.

There is alot of other engine builders out there, and right now if you have the coin, you can get a good engine built for a good price.

Not taking anything away from the quality of their products, but you should be able to find a cheaper way to do it.

Out of curiousity what are they after for that engine? I am only familiar with their n/a builds.

they wanted 8.5G for the 650 HP engine build

but i have to stay away from that for a little while now because i had an accident in my EL at the beginning of the week which means i now have to pay for someone to fix the damage i have done to it

so whilst she is in the shop she's getting a full respray yay lol plus a few little goodies haha
