Hey everyone...

Not sure if I should have put this in the off-topic, but it is forced inducted related so I posted it here. Mods move as you please.

I am trying to sell a turbo for a family friend that came out of a WRX STi. It is an aftermarket turbo, APS SR/50...it's up on ebay and after closer inspection of the trubo, it has a damn hole in it. Will either pull it off ebay if it's not worth selling or drop the price if it's still fixable.

Anyways was wondering if anyone could tell me what the part that has a hole in it is called and if it means a whole new turbo or can be salvaged? I assume it's the housing...but hell if I know.

The family friend wants to sell it, however I don't think I can sell it for much with a hole in it. I will be most likely taking it to a turbo specialist or give them a ring, so it is best if I have some sort of understanding of what's what so I don't get ripped off with outrages quotes.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Phong

as above, if your talking about the hole thats pretty close to centre of the pic, are you sure its not just where the bolt comes through from the oil drain pipe? ie the drilling for the thread of that bolt? I dont see anything to worry about in that picture,,
