The B series M78 can't be too bad because i'm at around 270rwkw and it's still going.I have to fix the slipper once a year or so though.

E-Series is NOT M78. M78 is Dana, BW78 in E-Series. 4 Pinion = stronger than B-Series 2 Pinion. Also, IRS is different to Live axle in strength.

Ford went back to a 2 pinion diff?

Yep, for some stupid reason they did! Although M78 gears are the ssame as BW78 IIRC. I'll be testing if a 4 Pinion BW78 centre fits an M78 housing in the next few weeks!

ive built my ea turbo up to handle 20 psi plus its getting tuned tomorrow want do u think i will tell my tuner to set boost at 15 18psi 0r more i dont think so, remeber this engine made 220 rwkw plus on 9 psi with very poor turbo and manifold
i will pull the pin at 260 to 280 rwkw
an ea only weights about 1450kg
i dont wont to kill my self or my engine even tuff engines cant cope with big boost all the time

giving up at 12-13psi hey? I know of an ED with a 6boost manifold + T04Z at 15psi that made 317rwkw, on a STOCK ED XR6 motor

they do, it's the same centre, don't use a live axle one in an IRS diff but.
it will fit, but you'll lose a driveshaft one day....

They're the same centres no matter what they are called,so an early Dana 78 type is still not as strong as the M86 type no way.

The m86 gears are bigger, i think they're 8 3/4inch in the old money.

AFAIK 78- 7.8" gears, 86 - 8.6" gears. Also, B-Series run a 2 pinion diff, EB2-AU run a 4 pinion

Personally i would stick with the factory engine, Spend the 6500 on a nice turbo, manifold, injectors, pump, computer, headwork, cam etc.... Will make power east and be a weapon 0-100.
