Have been saving for a fair while, wanna do a single turbo on the 5.0... nothing crazy... at first. Just wanna run around 6psi on a stock bottom end, then when funds allow upgrade the bottom end. Keeping in mind i want a single turbo, what turbocharger is recommended, what ECU, and any tips?

Could try a single T04, EMS 8860 ECU, strenghten the box, upgrade the diff, custom tailshaft, big front mount, some massive brakes, upgrade fuel system, this is not a cheap or easy option. There already exist supercharger kits, which would be cheaper in the short term. I havent played with turbos on 8's but had a little play with 6's back in the mid 90's. could even look at twin t3's using factory log manifold facing forward, not the best but it is an option. that way it would be like a pair of 2.5l 4 cylinders, for which a t3 is just about perfect

Let us know how you go, I to have wanted to go down that same road with turbo charging my 5.0 AU2. I know of SC kits that are custom edit for those models... but its the quest to be different and stand out.

So if there is any info out there? let us know :D

A single GT3540 would be fine..
Or almost any turbo making 600 to 800 h.p...
If rotating assembly is in good nick then it doesn't requre strenghtening.. The block is the weak link...

Turbo 5.0 sounds good to me...
