hi all, long time reader first time writer,
im hoping i can have a question answered for a friend
he has a nasty rash.... only kidding
before he finishes my twin t28 setup in my 4ltr ef futura i had to agree to help with problems he is having with his 5ltr vn ss, he is running twin t04e internal gate turbos and it has an issue with one turbo opening the others waste-gate and vice versa until around 6psi when the thing runs fine and creates strong even boost to 9psi, when it happens it makes the car skip and f@rt around and you can hear air escaping through the air filters
any help would be appreciated

Tip for beginners, the coppa doesnt think its funny when you ask him to put your hooning fine on your spers account.

need more info like are the actuators opened by boost or vacuum (most to4e are boost)? air bleed (death stick) boost controller? t-pieced? pics would help
if they are internally gated as u said make sure they are getting the same vacuum/boost source and that the internal gate actuators are set to open at the same PSI (use a mighty vac or similar, and adjust the actuator rods, if they are adjustable which most are)

if they each have their own short lines from the compressor outlet to the actuator as said before just adjust the actuator rods so they are both opening at the same psi.

Yes make sure preload on actuator is about the same..
What can happen with twins...IF cylinders miss fire on one turbo it causes surging like you explained..
Check there's any damage to turbine wheels ??
If it's doing this at part throttle ?? Chances are it's just the balancing of actuators..
I found electronic boost controller [ebc] sorted this issue out ....
Most Ecu's have this available..
