Triple turbos would be crazy, the manifold wouldn't be hard, just the intake, exhuast and pressure side would be a pain. :(

I was going to use two RB25 turbos?

I close my eyes to picture it... All I see is piping... Lol..

How would that work anyway? Two high mount and one low? Or 3 high mount if they are small enough.

One big MoFo intercooler, with custom triple intake and output pipes maybe? Or three smaller ones?

Custom intake plenum with 3 throttle body's? Mmmmmm.

"Oh, the possibilities!"

Can you tune them to kick in at different stages? One low, one mid, one high? Keep it sensible and have constant steady boost!

3 different sized turbos would do this, 1 small, 1 larger, and 1 fuk off huge b**ch lol

its funny because the kempsey tafe have a honda ride on lawn mower and a turbo charade, they took the turbo off the charade, and put the lawn mower carb on the inlet of the turbo, and the turbo to the inlet of the head on the lawn mower and a chinese pod filter, they had a windscreen washer bottle full of oil and the little pump pumping constant oil flow to the turbo lol, i never seen it run unfortunatly

First, I'm referring to Twin Turboing, there would be a lot more info out there for AU engines than for the BAs.

No there wouldnt be.

The only difference between a twin turbo engine and a single one is an extra turbo and some piping.

The factory turbo twin cam engine has had way more development than an AU motor. Hardly any AU motors are turbocharged, thousands of B series are turbocharged.

Some workshops only serve the XR6T/F6 crowd, none are solely committed to turbo AU motors.

Where did that 500kW come from by the way, OP never mentioned specific power that he wanted to achieve, although Im gonna assume that by looking at twin turbos hes not looking to do a car for his Nanna.
As you say, BAs push 500kW easy and I havent seen many with a twin setup (I am NOT saying it hasn't been done!!!)

You said an AU motor would need less pioneering to make good, with the amount of BA's making over 500kw I reckon you're wrong.

Lowlane7 wrote:
If he forks all the money into the AU motor that is already installed and wired up engine, spends right in making it strong enough, a twin turbo AU engine should push over 350kW... Shouldn't it?? (aimed at all techies who have played with turbos themselves and have first hand experience please.. no mate of a mate crap)

As far as I understand it, 2 turbos = s**t loads more power?

Yes, but for the same amount of cash a twin cam motor will make more power and be more reliable because of all the development they have copped in the last 9-10 years.

2 turbo's just means more complications, not more power.

What's the obsession with "twin turbo's"? Are you guys a bunch of 17 year old car s*** who just watched a fast and furious movie or something?

The only benefit a "correctly sized" pair of twins has over a big single is response time. Because the smaller turbo's have a lighter and smaller rotating mass they should accelerate quicker. But you've got to remember they are being fed half the air that a big single is. On a street car the benefits are not as great as you are lead to believe.

Dont the stock RB20 turbos have ceramic wheels? or are you talking aftermarket?
