As Steady ED just said, the E7 heads aren't worth a pinch of salt to modify as you'll be behind the 8 ball to start with
If your on a budget then look for set of GT40P heads, i have seen couple sets on e-bay lately for sale or scrounge your local wrecking yards to see if they have a set but SERIOUSLY if your goal is a 6.0L windsor then buddy you better not have a budget as you will be looking down the barrel at new EVERYTHING

I am building a 6.13L 371cu/i motor at moment, you'll see my thread in this section so check it out and you'll see what type of stuff is needed to build this type of motor

What i will say here is that if you want a 6.0L windsor then be prepared to buy everything brand new as there is nothing out of a standard windsor that you can use and expect around 15K and up price tag

s**t aye? Even the standard block? I'd rather have a cheap 302W with 300kW than just a 6.0 for the hell of it, but it'd be nice. I have alot of homework to do... I should have a fair bit of money though but I dont want to spend more than $6-10k on the engine.

For that money i would look into either a cast 5.4 or 5.6 stroker kit for your block, AFR 185cc alloy heads, either trickflow or edelbrock victor or similar intake manifold, upgraded injectors and fuel system and reprogrammed ECU

To give you an idea Jamie (jimt3te50 on AFF forums) built a motor very similar to this and is hovering around the 300rwkw at moment which is easily good for a mid 12 second quarter
Here's link to his motor build - be warned it is VERY long and will take a while to read
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=32600

P.S- the windsor blocks are the weakest link in the whole engine, if you start revving these past 6500 - 7000 they have a prone tendency to split themselves in half

So yes if you want a 6.0 you need an aftermarket block as well as these have a 4.125" bore size compared to the standard windsors 4" bore size

Not exactly, a 351 windsor factory block will see 420 plus cubes with ease

300fwkw, How much kw at the wheels would you be looking at through a T5 manual?

KW @ fly is approximate hp @ wheels. For example, in this instance, Falcon IV is hoping for 300fwkw, so that would be about 300rwhp. This equates to approx 221rwkw.

Cheers Kilma, pretty simple way of working it out. Its usually around 20% loss through ther drivetrain yeah?
I would be pretty damn happy if i was pushing between 200-220rwkw when im done.

This is true but if you look at the 1st post in this thread he particularly stated he wanted it based off a 302W so my statement still stands

351W are a whole different ballgame

I wouldn't be overly concerned about bragging rights and high hp numbers, torque is whats more important and why you'd go the stroker route in the fiirst place, where its (power) is made and how your driveline is setup is crucial to dispatching those floggadores.

Why, they fit, everything bolts up, all the serp fits straight on, everything just works, and, its just off 6lt in stock form....I put one in my EL and the only problem is if I ever break an engine mount, I might get a damage around the bay

I think it is a bit closer to 30%. That rule only applies to RWD cars, and it is only in general though. Not to be taken as gospel by any means.

AWD cars will lose a lot more (I think the figure is around 60%) because they go to all wheels, and FWD cars will lose less power through the drivetrain.

I know I'm 5 years too late, But I'm in exactly this position ATM. I have a ED 5.0L Fairmont. After much research, Mods I've lined up are as follows:
AFR165 heads from the US
Edelbrock EFI Manifold ground out by the AFR boys as well
92mm Throttle body (yet to source)
1.72:1 Ratio rockers (replacing stock 1.6:1) from yella terra or Comp Cams haven't decided
SS Induction kit
Pacemaker Tri Y headers - bottom end torque development
High Flow Venom Catalytic converter
3" custom exhast system, resonator only, probably no muffler
All up about $5000.00 worth of bolt on.
Probably retain the original MAF as I'd have to take the boat across to Melbourne to get it tuned if I replaced it and I can't be bothered at the moment. ;)

92mm TB????? Isn't anything larger than 80 gonna kill your torque?

And stock MAF/cam?

the 65mm would be sufficient for stok cam. and the restrictive maf means its a deadset waste of money.
and the 5k budget.. wait let me sit down for this...

not sure how much kw/hp my motor has but has ported e7's,crane 2040 high lift (e303) cam, explorer intake 65mm t/b, au maf, underdrives, thermo's,pacemakers,3'' exhaust. Everythink seems well match and goes great but would like to get a chip done to suti as well. 347 would be great and set of decent heads you would be very happy but even decent set of heads, intake and cam on your motor you would happy as well..
