Got a 220kw AU XR8 which iv had a few problems with, the latest of which is a fluttering noise at 1500rpm comeing from what sounds like the left head, if you have ever had a loose guard inside the wheel arch at 100ks it sounds like that... no other way to describe it, any ideas would be appreciated, otherwise I'm takein her to my local ford dealership to get diagnosed...

Does the noise speed up with revs or is it constant?

Well its only at around 1500rpm, when you go over or under it doesn't do it, that's what's got me stumped... I mean it sounds like its in the head, but I could be something hideing away in the engine bay that sounds like its the head... I'm just hopeing its not anything major...

Have you upgraded to alloy heads? If so, were they emissions or non-emissions? If they're emissions type heads, there'll be holes at the back of the heads that need to be plugged up and can cause this type of sound if they're not. I'm guessing you're probably running stock heads though.

What about PVC? Can this make any noises if it's popped out? Check all vacuum lines at the back of intake?
