taller deck height=wider block, and the lower half of the inlet manifold is different to a 302, the firing order is different as well.....

The fireing order is the same as roller efi engines. The earlier 302's are different Roller efi is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8....
The 5.8 had speed density eec computor and ran NO maf, BUt all efi 5 Ltr loom fits...Sump is different to 5 Ltr, bigger rear main...

As said above higher deck height as in bores longer...
Being longer and at 90* It will be wider....
The height will be a slight porblem if fitting in E series? But bonnet cowling cn cure that....
DIMENSION DES MOTEURS

Moteur Longeur Hauteur Largeur
302 27-1/2> 20-3/4> 18-3/4
351W 27-1/2> 23-3/4> 21
4.6L SOHC 28> 26 >28-5/8
4.6L DOHC 28 >29-7/8> 30

As you can see the 351 is 3" higher and 2 1/4" wider...Sorry for French lesson off Canadian site...Note the 4.6 is wider than 351...

There is a bloke in Street Fords issue 02 who has put a 351 into his EDXR8,the motor was out of a 1994 SVT lightining truck. He got the engine through Eagle Imports. Also in the article says the 351 uses alll the standard 302 running gear-brackets,timing cover, water pump and pulleys, one don side was that he had to change the belt for a longer one.

It also said that the standard XR8 computer was enough to fire the engine.

One other down side was the 1inch taller deck height, which was rubbing on the bonnet. So possibly if you wereto fit one you would need a bonnet made up or a bonnet scoop.Ths guy fitted a bonnet scoop from a turbo diesel nissan 4wd.

Hope this helps...
