Hi again

Other than taking the rocker cover off can you tell if a 351C is a 2V or 4V - I know the car's have a code on the ID tag, but what about the block or on the sides of the heads?

take a look at the top right of the head (with everything still on)

if you can see a 4 or a 4., its a 4V big port head

Yes that's a damn good article.
Something to add to that is the fact that the 302C closed chamber head had a squared off outer head bolt boss. So it's an easy way to spot a CC head at a glance.

I'm suprised la trobe doesnt offer a course in Ford V8 identification...

i have have a set of fresh fresh not even picked up yet reco'd 2V port and polished close chamber heads with 4v valves but with standard valve springs for sale :twisted:
