having some idiling problems on start up and when the engine is cold.when i first start it up in the mornings she runs real rough starts surging then the a/c kicks in then she shuts down.start it up again give it some revs get moving she runs fine.when the engine is warm and i am sitting at the lights she starts surging not a huge amount but enough to notice and feel.after a bit of a drive i can turn it off start it up straight away not idiling dramas.these problems started the same day i had the headers fitted.that same day i filled up the tank.does the computer need time to adjust to the air flow?also had the growler cai fitted the week before if that makes a difference.could it be a batch of dodgy fuel? any help would be great cheers. :x

Did it happen as soon as you started it after the header fitting?
Are the HEGO's plugged in? Did you use sensor safe silicone?

Well, the HEGO's you can check yourself if they are plugged in.
If you had them installed ask whoever fitted the headers what silicone(if any) they used? certain types can "poison" the HEGO's.
Also check they haven't secured the HEGO harness' properly and melted them on the headers...this wouldn't be the first time this has occurred with certain exhaust shops.
It's possible that headers can cause idle problems on speed density vehicles but I haven't heard of this problem from others(with 3V's)that have changed headers. What type are they?
