i am considering takin my car to the mechanics as it isnt running the best and i cant figure out what seems to be the problem as i dont have the nesicary equipment to diagnos the problem.

well this is where it starts. about 2 moths ago i took my car down to geartouque to get the gearbox rebuilt (stage 2 rebuild and 2200 rpm stall converter) all goes well except that now that the transmission isnt slipping like all hell the engine appears to be lacking considerably in power.

before the rebuild i had a chip onstalled in the computer but i took it out coz it made no difference to power at the time

once i got the car back i played around with the timing and got it to where it performed the best. i then changed over to premium unleaded as it pinged the least altho it sometimes stil does atm.

i have now changed my fuel pump to a bocsh 03 or 04 not sure which one it is as i thort that my fuel pump was rooted. it does perform a bit better now altho appears to lean out stil. i have got new spark plug, and leads also

i have perchased a fuel pressure regulator to up the fuel pressure but i am still waiting for it to arrive

i have tryed reinstalling the chip again but it fails to work properly and idles realy roughly and runs really rich.

i have also swapped in another ecu that has been repaired and it made no difference. atm under full acceleration it losses power and revs die off. take off it splutters up to about 2 grand and after about 4 grand power dies off. only half decent acceleration is under 1/4 to half thorttle

what else should i check before sending it to the mechanics?

Check the MAF, and have the FTI looked at, and lastly check and replace the fuel filter. Hope that helps

Go through and check that when the box was out they haven't upset any wiring, check everything is plugged in, all earth leads are on and tight, things like that. And the TFI module, MAF as Brett has suggested. It could also be a coil starting to fail, or perhaps leads/Distributor cap...

Check Hego earth connection either on bell housing or rear of intake.
