Yeh the twisted edge out perform most heads out there. I guess u have a point there with the turn key packages they provide.

Considering the current uptake of CNC machines in a few engine shops wouldn't it be cheaper to hog out a set of pro toplines out to something close to a set of twisted wedge head or are they a totally different design and you'd have to add a s**t of metal before hogging them out?

To be honest im not 100% sure, but according to magazine's and websites online the twisted edge out perform alot of heads. But hey you may be right in saying in getting protoplines and porting them out.

The Twisted Wedge heads are a different design, with different chamber and valve locations. Hence the name. You cannot take a lower rung alloy head (ie RHS/Pro Topline) and try and turn it into something like a TFS R series or an Edelbrock Victor.

The Victor is an awesome head for a SBF, 2 hours work will net you a pair of heads that flow 360cfm.

Thats true but you dont have to spend mega dollars to get something good. Im also going to see BK race engine's who built the engine for that black AU which is a 347 and runs 10's on NOS and mid 11's without.

That black AU you refer to was built by Spiro at Granville Auto tech, and the quote for the build was low 30's

Spiro from Autotech only tune's the car as the car is running a EMS 8860 but BK race engines built the new motor. Apparently the first engine was built in some other state and he wasnt happy and went to BK race engines and changed a fue things then another rebuild after engine split the block. So now it has a BK race engine in it with a DART sportmans block and the works.

First ask yourself if you're an 11sec driver.
No disrespect but a lot guys come in talking about 10sec this and that, get the sh*ts when the car runs a 12 and blame the engine builder, I've seen plenty of engine guys put in a competant driver and reel off the numbers they built it to do and a very quiet owner after that.
Its a lot of money in the N/A windsor world to throw at 'potential' numbers, T & M charge, budget about 25k to 30k for 500-550 rwhp - engine only. (trust me, I've asked)
11s are a lot more than just decent hp motors, if u haven't got the launching and fueling gear down pat, the racing is already over.

they have the numbers on the board and a name to live up to BUT u must give them an idea of:

* exactly what u want
* exactly how much u want to spend
* exactly what you're willing to compromise in a daily driver.

the rest is maths, they've been around long enough, and seem decent enough to point u in the right direction.
keep us posted as it sounds like a monster in the works.

Yeh im only thinking of freshing my engine up just to see whats in it so i get the external like inlet manifold, injectors, ECU pump and race it as it is before i go all out, but eventually my goal is to get it into the mid 11z.

But everyone on here will know whats happeneing with my car so i can recommend ppl to use if they need engine rebuild or tuner or anything along those lines as im apart of a forum which info should be relaed to all so they can benefit from it as well.

I went 2 livo krispy cream 2nite if anyone saw me :D

Strange part about engine machinists?? Rocket and a few well known guys go to a machinist shop in St Marys. But looking at it you wouldn't take your bike there.. Having said that I have had our XR6 machined by them and NO issues... It's not rocket science machining and assembling an engine, which I do myself to my own engines..
