hey guys, i am building a au sedan up as a super street race car, now i have a 6 cyl au futura, all in good running condition, i have just found a el xr8 motor, i have read that the au 6 and 8 crossmembers are the same, my question is are the engine brackets between the block and engine mounts the same between au and el? the way i see it is if i can get this motor, buy some engine mounts and just slot it in life will be easy... the gearbox will be a c4 if it makes any difference...

Thanks in advance guys

Nick

Why use an E series V8? that will not be progress. Unless you are going to do heads intake and cam.

Intake will be a carby, I'm looking into afr 185s heads and obviously cam will be a much larger grind looking at stroking it to 331 or 347. I just need to know about the engine brackets.

Thanks Nick

I think you just need to buy AU engine mounts Nick. They come with bracket on top to bolt to the block.

thanks a heap xr9ute, ill go down to ford tomorrow and see if i can get them, so they should come ready to bolt to the block? thats great news! do you know if late model windsor blocks mount differently to older (1970s) blocks? either way you have helped me a bucket load.

Thank you

All smallblocks, cleveland or windsor have the same engine mount pattern/position.
