And they both run exactly the same and make the same power if they make 175kw, All im saying is that there is no performance difference between a stock 19lb equipped 175kw au and a stock 24lb equipped 175kw au.
Obviously the bluetops have a bigger scope to make more hp but only if tuned.

I assume competition means 1 3/4" primaries? If so give them back and get the 1 5/8" ones unless you're going to build a much more radical engine.

Primary Pipe:

1 ⅝"

(41mm)

the outlets 2.5" the cats are 2.5" and the exhaust is 3" with 2.5" inlets should make some sweet top end. Next trickflow Track heat manifold and thinking changing heads... will find an appropriate camshaft first and do the top end all in one go.

Still thinking of staying the with gt40 heads... and just changing the lifters rods spring and rockers and installing crows 220kw cam. just want it decent on the highway and some fun on cruises without DESTROYING fuel economy.

im undecided. what have other cams and manifold and head combos have people used on here?

While posting here are there any cheap Aussie or aussie stock upper and lower plenums around?

Phew!

Do you mean stock explorer intakes? I'd say there would be some for sale around the traps.

Well after alotta pain in the a*** work, shes all fitted might i note to anyone reading that if you have a v8 and are getting tuned length that the bolts that would put the stock extractors on WONT FIT and will have to go out and buy smaller replacement one to suit as there is F all clearence between extractor primary pipe and bolts.

Sounds awesome tho, not loud but still yet to carbon up abit. lovin it.

Seems all this work has mad one thing worse.

Its hesitates chronically from stand still to going Surges all thru RPM range and now with extractors on Bad miss that feels like a thump under load going up hill around 80-100kmph.

New fuel pump and inline filter, good topgun lead and ngk iridium plugs made no difference.

Im leaning towards coil pack but opinions welcome.

Fuel pump did fix long start up issue.

I've got the same issue with it taking a while to wind over and start, its been like that since i brought it i was thinking injectors? I've replaced the coilpacks with the MSD ones and it didnt make a difference but it felt a little bit more responsive. Their resonably cheap so it probably wouldn't hurt.

Well with the starting issue the pump stays on 8 seconds after the cars turned off, to keep the fuel pressurized. i just guessed it was leak pressure at the pump. changed it and walla fixed.

How'd the Msd unit installs go? where they tricky or quite straight forward?

One thing i noticed different after changing the pump (well before) was that it smelt like a mower when running as in real rich, after changing the fumes went to normal.

Im assuming incorrect pressure cause the injectors to spray incorrectly, causing an incorrect burn.

the 8 second priming after the car stops, read that in the max ellerys workshop book.

If it helps anyone the hex band screw on the outside of the fuel pump lid (the metal clamp) is taken off with an 8mm ring spanner. the hammer and screw driver to work lid around anti clockwise. some rubber grease helps getting the pipes on i must note (pipes on the fuel pump itself and housing and return line)

Will ask another question, Does either the Fuel pressure regulator, oxygen sensor or injectors cause a miss under load? at low revvs.

Some AU's got a dark blue set of injectors which were 21lb.

Yes they can. HEGO's are often a problem after fitting headers on AU's too. Injectors need to be dirty to cause a miss. Regulators are usually pretty reliable. have you changed the fuel filter?
