How are they on an overall spectrum on comparison to the Peformer RPMII?
Do they seem to be a better or worse torque producing manifold?

The tests I've seen show no improvement over the common Edelbrock or Cobra intakes, in fact they seem to be smidge worse.

Well they're better than the original GT40 style manifold more low down torque !

To xr9ute I've looked on this site for a long time and everyone who seems to ask about them never gets a proper answer all the monkeys that read books seem to beat around the bush and talk about everything else !

Yeah I know what you mean Brad, At the end of the day it's all about the total combo and if it works for you that's all you need. The guy's that have used them here saw no improvement from their previous cobra and edlbrock performer intakes and these were on stock AU 5.0's with pacemakers and exhaust. The box top version worked pretty good on a 347 for top end power but the guy switched to Performer RPM2 and got better everywhere but it's still all about the combo in the end.
One thing I've noticed about the magazines is they leave out certain intakes in their tests quite alot and it's usually the BBK, RPM2 and Victor...it's like they're in cahoots with trickflow!?

I wonder if the SSI intake has better air speed through it's twin plenum design & this is the improvement you are experiencing. Certainly I've seen tests between it & the GT40 intake, and the power figures are very similar with the SSI starting to edge ahead at higher rpms. IMHO it is more designed as an upgrade for HO intaked cars, I for one still think the Explorer or GT40 is hard to beat for a street orientated engine.

Well mate where I got it fitted the blokes new what they were doing and they didn't just bolt it on they also got rid of some un needed pipe work (pollution gear) and I'm running a top of the line fuel pressure regulator so weather that has anything to do with it ? But the motor breathes well ! A few months ago a put a good set of extractors the best stainless cats I could buy and a 3" mandral bent system out the back !! I'm not gonna say what else has been done to the motor cause that's my little secret but it was all done before the manifold and it still made a difference ! So I'm happy with the perchace ! The only reason I bought it originally was cause I wanted to put a cool set of rocker covers on !!!

Interesting. I've always wondered if they would fit under an E-series bonnet.
