Hi guys I am new to the site and am after a little info...

I currently own an EF Fairmont with the 165kw windsor in it on gas. I would like to fit an AU XR8 motor in to it. I figure I can probably run the EF dizzy set up and the EF throttlebody but I am wondering if I can run the factory AU headers or will they foul on the steering column or inner guards???

Also is it possible to use the AU throttlebody if so what needs to be done?

Thanks in advance

extractors, im guessing a set for an e series that suit gt40p heads, not sure if the au ones will fit.

t/body, the auxr8 motor should have explorer manifold with a 65mm t/body so i wouldnt be going back to a 58mm job.

oh, welcome to fordmods :)

I can turn off smartshield in the AU eec and you can run the entire AU setup in your EF if you like?

AU headers don't unfortunately fit.

Thanks for that,
I will cross AU headers off the shopping list now!!
XR9UTE I like the idea of using the AU ignition what would it be worth to turn the shield off if I sent it to you. I am still looking for a motor at this stage so would be later on in the year.

Thanks

$250
It means you also have integrated trans control in the EEC if you have an auto.

Sorry to dig up an old thread.

XR9Ute, I was under the impression that the EF & AU engine harnesses were different on the ECU side. How would you go about running an AU ECU with the EF electronics?

Yes they are different all the way through not just at the EEC side...use the AU one.
