Just trying to find out if anybody else has had similar problems to me.

Having trouble with the engine as it stalls at idle with A/C running. Already had the updated program installed, worked well for about 1000 KM's. Had cam chain tensioners replaced due to being noisey. They've been in for about 2000 km's, starting to make noise again on start up. Knocking in steering rack, FORD can't get rid of it even replaced it. Thinking I might have a lemon.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Yeah like anything these days theirs is always a 1% Fault rate on things. I guess I would be demanding me money back or a new XR8. I talked this girl at work who said she had big issues with her brand spanking new Mistsubishi Lancer and how it's got rust in a few places, a cracked alloy wheel and a shopping list of other faults. Still Mitsubishi wont come to the party.

some ba's have a problem with noise in the power steering rack
2 of the common causes are surface damge to the steering rack and the thread burr on the stud hole in the crossmember
also some have had power steering leaks in the gears
some have had a clicking noise in the column also due to a shot bearing

just keep taking it back till they fix it!

Sorry to hear about your problems. Can't say I've had any problems with mine.
Unfortunately you'll just have to keep taking it back - or try another dealer, as some are a little more receptive than others.

my car had a knock in the rack when you turned full lock one way.
i took it to the dealer it was fixed within 15mins with a :D ,
i have found if you start picking they are less likely to listen. go and talk to them about REAL problems and they will listen.
and my gt-p rattles a little when its started from cold. i might have to put a louder exhaust on it.
