Have A BF XR8 6 speed manual. have noticed for some time that it uses clutch fluid, Appears to be leaking from the slave, Apart from topping up the fluid in the resivour every now and again it shifts like it should and clutch seems good.

The vehicle has aftermarket Dealer warranty which will cover the cost of a new slave and labor, But here is the catch.

Must only be repaired by The dealer that supplys the warranty.

Now normaly one would not hesitate to get this job done but I have had many bad experiences with this dealer.

Only had the car for a week or so, Alternator died, 10 working days to fix it. failed again the day after I got it back. Another few weeks to repair.

Warranty repair on the instrument stalk, Got the car back no stability control, steering wheel position switch missing a small retainer. Still havent got the retainer after 15 months.

they managed to destroy 4th gear syncro in my patrol gearbox.

Overtightened the oil filter housing in my Patrol, Next mechanic to remove the housing shattered the whole assembely and engine cooler due to the overtightening.

So my point is the dealer is absolutly useless!

Now do I trust them to repair my slave sylinder or leave it alone as its only leaking and the car drives fine.

You've answered your own question...DO it yourself. It'll be cheaper and better.
