Mod Motors in Australia or in the US? The only Mod motor down under to make close to that sort of power was the cappa tuned BA XR8 ute, and that was 6-7 years ago.

A drop in comp for a supercharger is a given. A conservative estimate of 50% power gain still stands.
So 412hpNA vs 449hpblown still doesn't compute.

Maybe the tuning is in the bypass valve. Maybe its not closing fully or its being controlled via PWM to modulate the boost. It appears as though both motors have the same blower pulley diameter of 77mm.

Additionally, we did check what the boost was through the power runs, and it looks as though the boost gauge in the car is accurate. The GT sees as high as 9.1psi in the mid-range, while the GS topped out at 7.5psi. They both taper off as the revs climb, the GT to just over 7 on some runs (although it managed to sustain just over 8 on a few), the GS to 4.3 or so.

FPV do claim that the PCM does control the boost. A couple of workshops are keen to try a GT tune in the GS to see what happens.

ps. I agree that there's no way such boost could only make a pitiful 8kW on the GS and 28kW on the GT.

Without a blower on it, our charged motors wouldnt be making 300kw... compression ratio like xcabbi said is dropped a bit so it will be down on power to start with.

I'd love to see what it would do once the blower bypass is held shut.

Yes, but what would be the point of fitting a blower for 8kW? I made more than that on my EB2 XR8 tow car with guesswork on a DIY J3 tune;

Besides that, the Coyote is also understated in aspirated form;

Well from your second link, more people are confirming these higher than expected dyno figures in the U.S. and it really does suggest that the official power figures are understated.

That might be ugly without fitting an intercooler kit first.

A dealer-fitted and fully emissions-compliant intercooled 2.3L whipple kit with everything to match, and even a 12/12 warranty on the (probably still understated) "525hp" version. Awesome :twisted:
