currently building budget 347 windsor in ef.

contains: pro comp;
347 stroker kit fully balanced .30thou
190cc heads
10,000 series dizzy
typhoon upper/lower intake
gear drive
roller rockers
hv oil pump & sump
s/metal rocker covers
plus numerous other stuff all from sydney speed.
and comp cams xe274hr cam &lifters.
Anyways i know there is lots of bad feedback about procomp but for $4000 for almost everything but the block it fits my budget. car started first go when put back together apart from the cams lumpy idle engine is real smooth still needs tune tho as stock ecu cant handle everything. i guess time will tell but as for now it seems pretty good

just wondering on any estimated h.p this kit might be capable of.

it should pull pretty hard for what it is...pro comp suck fat C**k but mate sorry. i wouldnt rev it to hard or expect it to last long.....an engine builder in our car club built a full pro comp 347, including, stroker kit, heads, dizzy and inlet manifold. and he was a bit dissapointed with the power but yeh thats pro comp.......he then built another 347 using scat stroker kit, patriot heads, msd dizzy and edelbrock inlet manifold and made another 150hp ontop.......its just budget performance, it will still hammer

The price difference to go scat or eagle cast crank and i beam rods from pro comp is not much and it seems u have not done much research as the cost to get pro comp to work will be more.

One thing u will learn from this expirence is "build it once and build it properly"

Good luck

I gotta say, I'm also curious what you might eventually get on a dyno.
Hopefully you won't have to pull it apart to fix any problems that you may encounter ( keep your fingers crossed! ) with the casting of the Pro-Comp parts.
The tune is going to be vital if you intend to put your engine through high RPM.
What sort of hardware will you be using to tune it?

The cheapest cranks and rods available that are good quality are probe and rpm so u should of bought them and cheap heads would be RHS

http://www.racingheadservice.com/

http://www.probeindustries.com/

http://www.rpmmaxx.com/

http://www.racingpartsmaximum.com/

If u bought these crank and rods u would of saved about 150-200 compared to scat or eagle and heads around the same mark.

well had car booked in to be tuned thursday (yesterday) to find out that a couple of the brand name comp cams lifters are not bleeding up properly so they could not tune the car. just to prove that even good brands can have some issues. by the way i am using T.I performance j3 chip for the tune.

Of course brand names can have issues but no way near as pro comp dude, im not here trying to tease u but to guide u and to be frank u have not done alot of research and u have the internet. I wouldnt blame someone if they didnt have internet access and they bought pro comp gear and had issues.

Who machined, balanced and assembled ur engine???

Are you saying you couldn't hear the rattle of a collapsed lifter or two? If they were not pumping up, it would run like a dog, and rattle / tap quite a lot.
Are they windsor or cleveland Comp lifters? The hydraulic rollers are different.
Who machined / balanced / assembled / ran-in this engine? That can make a lot of difference to the final result.

sydney speed balanced the internals, m&w did the block my mechanic (brother) did the assembly and run in. The issue was not that the lifter/s weren't bleeding up but that a couple wouldn't hold pressure causing popping out the exhaust. lifter part# 851-16

Strange. They are not a cheap a*** lifter, and there would be millions of them in use...
What cam did you use? P/N?

Are you using the original EF block? If not, what block is it?
