Firstly, can the Cam on the 5.4L 3 valver V8 be replaced to increase power output, and what kind of kw increase can I expect. Also, how much should I spend on a mod like that. Does the head need to be reworked as well?
Just out of interest.
Thanks.

I know Crow do cams for the Boss engines, think I read that 400$ per cam, time 4 - so not cheap.
I'm sure someone dooes them for the Barra. Check out the Crow website, e-mail Wade about regrinds maybe, try Surecam, maybe try some American websites (as I assume the engine is US?).

I am not sure what is available off the shelf, but how fast do you want to go?

Craig at ACE has multiple 3V cars in the low 12's now, and they are still running the stock cams.

Its a 3V head not a boss. Only got 1 cam per bank so that's 2 cams.

Nothing yet, but thinking of a few possibilities.
Cold air induction, a full exhaust system, and possibly cams.

I would be getrting a "flash tune" done as well, you will be suprised at how well the 3 valve motors go.
There is a couple running mid 12 second 1/4 mile times with stock cams.

Unlike the 4V the 3V has variable cam timing. Therefore some gains could possibly be made through reflashing some of the VCT calibration.
Obviously lift would not be affected and this is where an aftermarket cam would be of benefit as well differences in intake to exhaust timing.
Comp shows these cams for 4.6/5.4 3V engines;
