Hey guys.
Planning a V8 conversion into a 6 cylinder NL Shell (Donor car is a V8 NL with a crap body!)
planning to build one kick-a*** V8 outta the two, and possibly use the remins as a burnout car.
anyway, point is, has anyone done a thread detailing this swap that i can get advice/ideas from? Been given conflicting info on how to do it. From what i've been told, the engine bay wiring isn't hard, just time consuming, and more or less the same for the dash. However can anyone give me some solid advice on the dash side of things?

Dash for the V8 & I6 should be the same.

That's what i woulds thunk, but i've had a few people tell me there are wiring differences. i was told you have to change one side (If i remember correctly.) could be something to do with the 6 and 8 having a different transmission control system.

Indeed it is good sir. that's where i'm lucky. Will have both cars sitting side by side in a week or two (Just gotta pick the 6). It's gonna happen, the only question is how soon. might just drive the 6 until it dies, then do the swap

One loom behind the dash is V8 specific (carries two tcm yellow plugs) and must be changed, plus the ecu loom mentioned above. Instrument panel is the same, so is the loom that connects to it.

much appreciated guys! Looking forward to this. i did consider selling off the V8, but then i did a sneaky run in it and after hearing that exhaust note i was like "Gee, can i *REALLY* give that up?" the 6 cylinder makes NL number 3 in that i've owned. I Think it's a sign! :D
