haha
very imformative thread.

in the FPV - Tickford club of NSW there are more V8's than 6's so we are not a minority.

I wont bag out 6 owners, cos I have 2 now ... :(

yeah... I know that... well I sorta dont have a choice in the matter, cos the tow bar is on the Fairmont, and I refuse to put a towcar on the XR8.

6's arent too bad... but they dont compare to the deep rumble of a V8.

Well, finally got my AU back, i didnt even tell u guys it was going. I planned to get my 6 re-worked, bluebrinted, balanced, bored, etc. But mechanic called me after having it for 2 weeks tellin me the engine is clapped out and my cylinders are oval shaped from being thrashed so much. I told him to source me a V8 and he will begin to rebuild it in weeks to come as soon as the ordered parts come in.
Its straight out of a T3 Pursuit ute and mechanic got it fitted with headers, and full exhaust system(twin pipe). ALso got a new xr8 LSD diff and transmission.
Must say im neva going back to a 6. EVA! and im proud to say im one of few people who own a series 1 AU falcon with a v8. :D
