Hey guys. Does anyone have a definitive guide to which extractors will fit an EFI Windsor in an XF? - preferably with a 4 speed auto?

Thanks

Not definitive, but I think you'll need to run ones that suit an XW.

The ones that suit XW have trouble clearing the transmission (its wider) although they suit a manual fine ;)

Hi Nigel What Heads are you running. I think HM's will fit on the left side but the rights may need to be modded to clear the power steer, then you can fit GT40P'S if you want to. I have fitted XY ones before but it was a 5 speed "manwell" I think auto's alright as long as it's not a three on the tree. If you use early ones they won't be stainless and may not last as long and will require bungs for oxy sensors. Regards Alan TPVM.

Hmmmm... Good start ;).

Im running the EB heads to start with, and was then thinking of a set of GT40's (not P's) or something else that just bolted on.

I actually have both a set of Genie Headers for E-Series, and a set of headers that "fit" an XF without the 4 speed auto (HPC Coated) - but it literally sits at the side of the Auto.
It does look like the Genies may work, but the pipe for Cyl #4 may need to be reworked. At least thats what Im hoping. if they work, then I get to keep the Dual 2.5 ;)

I was really, really hoping that there was just a bolt-in option. In my case, Ive even got E-Series rear crossmember mounts so if it fits E-Series (and fits the XF Bay) im home... stupid P/S box, Stupid shock towers... he he he

No-one makes headers to suit the left hand starter of a 4spd auto or T5 unfortunately Nige.
I've used modified pacemaker 4-2-1's and Hurricane 4 into 1's in the past but that's just it, you have to modify them for starter clearance. The Hurricanes' being 4 into 1 are a little easier to mod.
You can also buy a bundle of snakes from difillipo made of 409 if want to build your own?

Grrrrrr... and thanks Pete.

Dont know if you followed - Im putting the EB/NC mounts on my XF - its a later XF and so the factory mounts werent usable without weakening. Means Im doing a swag of things - relocating handbrake swivel etc etc etc...

Id love to think it means my Genies will fit... but of course thats not likely to be the case. I do hold a small hope that it may just be pipe # 4 that needs work for the P/S box - and thats the one that is bolted in.

Followed where? I wouldn't use EB mounts in anything...they fall apart when you look at them sternly! If you were to use anything non standard, use EF-up mounts. Of course if you want it do it the easy way use the XA-E mounts which are stronger than the EB ones even if they aren't that great either, and at least they won't cost $350 bucks each.
Are these genies E-series type? It's probably far too much work to make them fit because they simply come out too far for shock tower clearance? Be good to see some pics of what you do anyway!
Did you see what I did to e-series headers to fit a 351 in an EB?....probably similar.

Nope - didnt see what you did to get a 351 in there.

Yeah E-Series Genies - looks like the Drivers side would work - passenger side not so much :(

Im using XE V8 Front Mounts, currently E-Series Rear Mount, with the EB Actual Crossmember, and the NC/EB Crossmember mount plates taken out of the floor of the NC and welded into the XF so that the floorplan underneath now essentially is EB - pity about those shock towers (More GRRRR)

Awww crap ;)

I do have a set of extractors here that fit, but theres no room with the Auto (they finish up against it).

They'll fit, but they need modification. And wouldnt you know it - exhaust shops are all "um, arh, dont know mate"
