Looking at changing diff ratio to 3.9 or 4.1
just got told I cant run 4.1 ratios and 3.9 ratios would cost me $1975 have done a search and cant find any info if any1 can show me a thread or has any info on after market diff gears. Was told terrotry diff wont fit. any info will be appretiated thanks Dan NL 5ltr |

you can get 4.11 gears from a nissan pintara rwd(4 cyl skyline), and the 3.89 from a r31 skyline..
both cars are borgwarner diff and the gears will fit into the falcon.. |

thats what the diff guy said and quoted me $1975 fully installed
and think thats a bit steep or is that the normal price I thought it would be a straight swap over even if the gears cost me $600 why is it so expancive to have them installed cheers Dan |

i supplied my own gears, and the diff place i went to charged $700 to remove the diff from the car, supply a second hand lsd hemisphere(as mine was stuffed) fitt the diff gears, new axle bearings and seals, new pinion bearing and seal, and new carrier bearings, re fitt it to the car..
i dont know why they would charge near $2000 |
