You could try Walliston Wreckers. They seem to carry a lot of stuff like that and I always found them reasonably fair on prices. as for fitting it, I don't know. I normally do all my own stuff. It wouldn't be that hard to do yourself if you have a few tools.

I've heard BAs aren't well built.

A mate had a XR6, and reckons the LSD wasn't so strong after 2 or 3 big burnouts, he wasn't too impressed.

so ive heard. but mainly from the standard diffs.
this was a xr6T diff and my 3v killd it still in preety nuch standard form and stock tune..
sure ive done a few burnouts but nothin special. only in first for about 10 seconds. never went up through the gears.
and thie worst part is i wasnt doin a burnout or anythin this time. i was just goin around a corner a bit quiker than normal and fckn bang and grind..

Nah LSD's dont usually spin the opposite wheel if one is in the air (or the opposite CV is broken). Thats why 4wd guys go for the lockers instead.

A new half shaft will be more than a 2nd hand diff.

THIS is a blown diff (mine from a few weeks ago now). Again it happened on a sedate drive home. But it HAD put up with 100k of daily driving, tracks days, drag passes (incl. burnouts).

Notice the hat is now see through, and the centre is missing - found on the road.
New one built using a TrueTrac centre, and better than Ford components (gears, bearings, etc. etc.), plus repair/replacement of the damage the centre did on it's way out, set me back almost 7k.

holy crap!! thats alot of money for a diff! especially in one of these.
i have busted 2 CV's in my XR6T, you should be able to get a second hand one for around $300, there are some tuff ones out there that are ok, but the really strong Nizpro or similar ones are around $1700 a side.
pretty easy to change too, heaps better than the diff!

As said it's built with better stuff. the TrueTrac centre alone is ~1600
The centre damaged the IRS cradle on it's way out - tore off the main bush mount. New cradle was ~1400.

A new one (diff only) from Ford would be ~5k anyway.

So I got out of it with a much better diff, for the same Fraud Spare would charge me for parts alone.

me = :D

ok so thats wat a diff looks like when they go bang for real.
Is it very difficult or special tools needed to change an axle? or is ther a guide somwer about it.

And datamine it seems like you have done everything. or atleast know preety much everything. where do you get your info?
And was it your car i read about a few months ago that the tailshaft snappd on the dyno? thats som wild stuff.
