hi,
i know this is probably more a driveline topic, but i thought i may get more help in here..

i just converted my monty to a manual. all works well everything is happy except for the thermo fans.
im running MS2 ecu which is piggy backed on the stock ecu. the stock computer effectively only runs the dash, the ac and the thermos..

now i know the fans are running because the trans computer thinks the auto is overheating, but i need help in fooling it.
i have tried a series of different resistors across pins 1&5 (trans temp input and trans temp ground) of the TCM, which made no difference.

has anyone succesfully resistor tricked a TCM?
i havent had much time to play with it yet, but any assistance would be much appreciated.

Tried the resistor trick with no success. I think the six cylinder doco is not applicable to the V8's as I have tried those resistors with no success.

Thermo fans still running on my EL Ghia V8 as well.

Aftermarket ecu with thermofan control should solve the problem.

I have noted of late, then when my battery gets a little low the thermos come on straight away, but go off once i start cranking it, and i havent even done the thermo conversion yet, so go figure.

Tried the above myself, didn't work either. I ended up finding an xr8 ecu.

When my car was 100% ED V8 I successfully fooled my TCU as I could feel the difference between the torque truncation cutting in and out.

Now that I have a ED with a DL V8 ECU and TCU I can say that I do not have that laggy torque cutout like before however I haven't plugged in my thermo fans yet so I cannot say if I have successfully covered this side of things. Perhaps someone in Newcastle could loan me their thermo fans so I can plug them into my EF/L loom and see if they function correctly?
