Hello there,
car runs perfectly before i change the oil. I bought some 10W-40 oil and RYCO filter from supercheap, but after changing the oil, the engine start to make some strange noise.
I don`t know how to describe that, it just like there is some water in the engine. sound like a dish washer :x .... oil pressure normal, engine got power and not overheat. The sound is come from oil fan.
My engine has 220,000 on it, Is it on it`s way to die? what can i do? :?:

What oil fan?

You mean oil pump?
Is it an oil slop sound or more audible than that?

Sounds like its overfilled and the crank is hitting the oil in the pan.
How much did you drain out of it?
I just realised its a V8. 10-40 is too thin for a 5.0 with 220k on it especially in summer.
Go a 20-50.

If its over max on the dipstick its definately overfilled.
Sounds like the crank slapping the oil in the pan to me.
