hi all i am currently getting my new car ready for a rwc. as soon as its on the road i want to get an exhaust for it (its a EB 5.0)

i would like to run a twin system (down the one side) as the general chat seems to be that they sound the best.

my question is what is the benifit of running a cross or X pipe? i know they give you a little extra low down torque but what will it do to the sound? does it make it deeper or give it that raspy sound?

Also what are peoples opinions on good combinations? it will only be a weekend car so im after something loud and deep. am i better with twin 2.5s with one muffler each side. or no muffler and two hot dogs each side or a twin 2.5 into a single 3". what will the different combinations sound like compared with one another?

Cheers all!

Well a big exhaust will always race the pitch i ve noticed

My AU has a twin 2.5, no cats and two muffleres each side, doesnt drone at all and sounds nice, but not very deep. Was deeper with the cats but not as loud up on revs. Also have played with a few combos before, was originaly a twin into 3" sounded a bit deeper then the current setup. However the deepest note came from dumping it at the diff strangely enough, but not very leagal as i ve found out

My first 351 had a ballance pipe, every V8 after that has ha an X member - They apparently provide the benifits of a single and dual system.
